It’s Memorial Day. What began as Decoration Day to commemorate the fallen in the Civil War by decorating their graves, over time became a day to remember those who died in all American wars.
Holidays like this are intended to give us more than a day off. They are meant to be a marker of remembrance for us that there are more important things in life than the hustle and bustle of work and the exchange of money.
Life. Family. Friendship. Freedom. Sacrifice.
